After a Winter of near record snow fall, Reticulata bloom started April 2. Sorry I wasn't able to get the web site updated during bloom. There are a number of issues I need to deal with about the design. I hope to address some of them over Winter.

The good news is I'm now retired! The catch 22 is I am so far behind with so many things that it will take until atleast the end of 2009 to get caught up. Retirement means I get to choose how I spend my time. The trick is to decide what is most important. I can see that even with all of the increased time, I won't be able to do everything. I know if I'm not careful I could end up spending all of my time gardening. I want to have time to go for walks, visit friends, travel more (including short trips), etc. It's a matter of finding a balance.

The "smile" is retirement is a bit depressing. That's only because I look around at all the things I have to get caught up on and it is overwhelming. Previously I was able to ignore most of the things, because I simply couldn't get to them.

At the end of February I went to Holland & France for almost 3 weeks. This was my first time visiting the Lentetuin flower show in Breezand. It was a real treat to see some of my hybrids in bloom at the show, as well as in the bulb field. I also fell in love with Paris, and enjoyed visiting Maurice Boussard in the south of France.
